National Occupational Standards (NOS)

Ten NOS for supported employment have been released for comment. The standards have been developed by the English Learning and Skills Improvement Service. There is opportunity to comment until the start of March, through a web based survey available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/supportedemployement.

SUSE response to the Mental Health Strategy Consultation

SUSE has drafted a response to the Scottish Government's draft Mental Health Strategy for 2011-2013. The response is to be sent by 31st January 2012. Prior to then, SUSE members are invited to submit comments on the draft response, to the SUSE team.

Consultation on Sayce's Recommendations

The UK Government is seeking views on Liz Sayce's report "Getting in, staying in and getting on". The consultation is open until October 17, 2011. SUSE has prepared a response to the Consultation.

Welfare Reform

As the Welfare Reform Bill enters it's second reading, in the House of Lords, in October 2011, the Scottish Campaign on Welfare Reform (SCoWR) has prepared a briefing on the issues.

SUSE Response to Sayce Review

In December 2010, DWP announced an independent review of specialist disability employment programmes. Liz Sayce, Chief Executive of RADAR, is leading this review. DWP is asking for feedback on specialist disability employment programmes: particularly residential training colleges; REMPLOY and access to work. Responses to the Sayce Review are to be submitted by February 28, 2011. SUSE has prepared a response.
