Welcoming statement from the Chairperson - Highland Employment Network (HEN): -
On behalf of the members of HEN, welcome to our page on the SUSE website.

My name is John Sutherland, and I am currently working as Project Coordinator - Employment Programmes for Leonard Cheshire Disability in Scotland, and have the privilege of being Chair of the HEN management team.
Management Team of HEN: -
John Sutherland(Leonard Cheshire Supported employment) Chair
Denise Clark(Highland Blindcraft) Vice Chair
David Stewart(Highland Employer Coalition Ltd.) Secretary/Treasurer
Lorna Beaton(Highland Workstep Consortium)
Nicola Doctor(Highland Council - Workstep)
Marion Mackay(NHS Highland's - Training & Guidance Unit)
The Management Team is fortunate to have the administrative support of Anne Whitehead who is currently working for Highland Employers Coalition Ltd., and we greatly appreciate her support.
The Network has not been going for as long as some of the others, and we are building our membership slowly at this time. The members of the Network are striving to introduce new members particularly from local businesses, but the demand on people's time is considerable, and joining yet another discussion/action group if often not the highest priority within the company.
In May of 2008 we celebrated our first Diversity Awards and were greatly encouraged by the number of nominations along with the very positive feedback from the Awards Dinners itself, to such an extent that we intended to continue to run this event for some time to come, however, we had serious difficulties in securing sponsorship for 2011 and decided to postpone till 2012, but all members of HEN continue to be keen to actively promote Equality and Diversity across the Highlands and Islands area.
Again, thank you for viewing our page on the SUSE website, and if we can be of any further assistance or you would like more information about HEN and its activities, then please do not hesitate to contact either myself or my colleagues via the above links.
New members are always welcome:
