The proposal is for SUSE to promote the sharing of knowledge and skills amongst its members. It proposes to support SUSE member to deliver training to SUSE member organisations, and other interested agencies.
In the first instance, this is not a fund raising proposal, but a proposal to capture and disseminate SUSE's collective knowledge, improve standards and provide services to SUSE's membership.
It is proposed that training will be for front line workers in employability (and possibly other sectors). This goes beyond much of the existing training which is awareness raising.
It is proposed that SUSE develops a suite of training with interested members, e.g.
1. Supporting people with sensory impairments
2. Supporting people with long-term mental health issues
3. Supporting people with brain injury
4. Supporting people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
5. Supporting people with long-term health conditions, such as COPD, diabetes
6. Supporting people with physical and mobility impairments
7. Supporting young people ...or young people with learning disabilities
There may also be a demand for more general training, such as "managing challenging behaviour"; equalities legislation; or the 5 staged model of supported employment.
Action Required
SUSE asks that members express their initial interest in:
