Free training - 'rights and responsibilities into and out of work'
11/04/2010
The Action Group has received funding from HMRC to deliver a training course on ‘rights and responsibilities when moving in and out of work.’
The course is aimed at workers in voluntary organisations to give them more confidence in assisting their clients as they consider moving into paid work or need to leave employment.
The content of the course is at a basic level and covers:
- The responsibilities that employers & employees have at the start and end of a working relationship.
- The impact of working on various benefits including which ones can be claimed by workers and which ones may cease if working.
- A basic knowledge of Tax and National insurance systems, allowing workers to identify problems in these areas.
- The statutory benefits paid by employers to people in work.
- How to assist people in work to keep their benefits on track and prevent problems from arising.
This full day of training is free of charge. Training can be provided to individual organisations if they have a training facility and five or more employees that would benefit. Alternatively, the course will also be run in Edinburgh, the West of Scotland, Glasgow and the North (Venues and dates to be confirmed).
